문화시설

서울에는 세종문화회관, 예술의 전당과 같은 공연장과 영화관를 포함한 240여개의 공연시설, 박물관, 미술관, 화랑, 전시실 등 330여개의 전시시설, 구민회관, 복지회관, 청소년회관 등 약 130여개의 문화복지시설이 있다. 공연시설과 전시시설을 포함하는 문화예술시설은 전통적으로 신촌, 대학로를 포함하는 도심에 집중되어 있으며, 강남에는 서초, 강남구에 신규시설이 입지하고 있다. 영화관의 경우 지역적으로 고르게 분포하는 편이나, 미술관, 공연장, 박물관의 경우 공간적 편차가 심하게 나타나고 있다.

Cultural Facilities

Seoul has around 240 performing arts facilities, 330 exhibition facilities such as museums, galleries, and exhibition halls, and 130 culture and welfare facilities such as citizen hall, welfare hall, and youth center.

Culture and arts centers both for performing arts and exhibitions have traditionally concentrated in downtown areas of Sinchon and Taehangro(college street) and new culture and arts facilities are being established in the Gangnam area. Movie theaters scatter more or less evenly, however, museum, gallery, and performing arts facilities show a big regional difference.
